4th Day of World Changers

There is so much we could say about today…the heat, the sweat, the paint, the water fight, the endless roofing, the planking, the fajita dinner, the concert of prayer, the time we spend laughing and crying together, the late night trip to Wal-Mart! It was a full day to say the least!

There is so much we could say about today…the heat, the sweat, the paint, the water fight, the endless roofing, the planking, the fajita dinner, the concert of prayer, the time we spend laughing and crying together, the late night trip to Wal-Mart! It was a full day to say the least!

Getting to serve with so many new friends from so many churches continues to be a highlight for each of us. We love the sense of accomplishment as several of our crews have finished or almost finished our specific construction and painting projects. Several of our crews will go help other crews finish their jobs tomorrow.

Instead of the regular worship service tonight we had a special and powerful concert of prayer. We sang songs of worship, we heard stories of young missionaries in Washington state, Fletcher Mission Center of Houston, a large city in India, and Istanbul, Turkey. How incredible that our Tallowood group has so many connections to several of those ministries or locations. We spent time praying out loud in groups of three, and Reed and Rebecca had the special privilege of praying over each of our 8th graders. We also collected a mission offering for church planters in New York City, and Ann and George presented and prayed over the Tallowood offering during part of the service.

We ended the time by asking God to show us how we can change our own worlds by praying and seeking opportunities to deepen relationships with someone specific in our family, one of our friends, someone at our school, and someone in our community. Our Tallowood group joined our hands together as a symbol of our commitment to spend the next month to praying for and looking for ways to share the love of Christ with each of these people. We ask you to please pray that we would faithfully keep this commitment and be able to continue to say with the prophet Isaiah, “Here am I, send me.”
